For all wine lovers, the Wine museum located inside the Falletti Castle in Barolo should not be missed. Located in the heart of this wine country, the castle and scenery are second to none and provide the perfect setting for a day of a learning about wine. The visit inside the museum takes you on a wonderful historical journey from Ancient Greece to modern times, demonstrating the importance of wine and its effect on our culture. From the second floor’s panoramic terrace of the castle there is the amazing view from where panoramic photographs of the “Langhe” hills and vineyards can be taken. Continue down to the ancient cellars where you will find at the heart of the castle, the place where this wine was born during the 19th century.
The “WIMU” wine museum and the castle are open daily. This museum represents the 11 wines from all the Barolo-producing towns of the Langhe area, explaining the production, the culture and the traditions of one of the world’s most famous wines – which are available for tasting and purchase in the Regional winery at the end of the visit.
