Siena is located in the heart of Tuscany and is one of Italy's best preserved medieval towns. It was built on three hills and surrounded by protective walls that can still be seen today. Siena boasts many examples of Gothic architecture and has a very unique main square called "il Campo" where the famous Palio horse race is still held twice a year.
